Nearly borderless print

The printer models Smart Lite, Smart, P100i, P110i, P110 monochrom, P120i, P330i, P330 monochrom and P430i allow a nearly borderless printing of cards, but with which persists a small white edge at all 4 sides of the card.

Nearly borderless duplex print

We would like to point out to you, that a double-sided nearly borderless printing is only conditionally possible. In most cases the printing on one of the two sides "frays". This doesn't appear if only one side is printed nearly borderless.

Colour-ribbon optimisation

If applicable, it can be achieved with an optimisation of monochrome ribbons, if is printed narrower than the full width of the card, more than 1,000 as well as even up to 3,000 cards can be printed. In case you change back from one ribbon to another several times, it can occur with maximum exploitation of the card width, that you can print somewhat less than 1,000 cards (half of the stated quantities of cards is valid with the P210i in each case).

Colour exactness

If you should be dependent with the cards to be printed in a particular colour (for example a certain HKS tone), it is commendable to produce this cards by offset printing or screen printing. With dye-sublimation printing technology the achievement of a 100 percent accuracy of colours is impossible, likewise fluctuations of the dye-sublimation printing results can appear from card to card. A printing over the entire surface, in particular using a constant colour, is only possible partly (loss of quality).

Printing of plastic-cards

We would like to advise you, that the card printers offered by us are perfectly suitable for the print of glossy, laminated PVC-plastic-cards. With the use of cards of other materials as well as chipcards and transpondercards (no matter whether the cards are from Maxicard or other businesses) it can come down to quality losses (e.g. unprinted spots on the card, etc.) We recommend a test print in each case.

Coding of magnetic stripes

Please use magnetic stripes that are found in the flush-on-process. Problems while encoding can occur with cards providing a roll-on magnetic stripe (additional application).

Cleaning rolls

Please replace the cleaning roll with recognizable contamination or increased dust-particles on the cards, normally with each ribbon change. Other outer conditions, than the statistically normal ones, can lead to a essentially more frequently, or respectively, more rarely need of changing the cleaning rolls. A regular change of the cleaning rolls provides a good print-image and spares the printhead!

Cleaning cards

By means of cleaning cards the regular cleaning of printhead, card feeder, forwarding rolls, coding-head(with printers providing encoding of magnetic stripes) and the contacts of the chip-contact-module (with printers providing chip-contact-modules) should be executed. This guarantees you, in combination with the above described regular changes of the cleaning rolls, a constant print-quality and extends the lifespan of the printhead.
